    Perfect gift!

We have clothed diapered our 8 month old since day one in Lil Helper diapers and wouldn’t do it any other way. So, when our good friend got pregnant with her first little one, we had to show her the way of this amazing company and their products. I purchased this starter pack for her as a baby shower gift to get her started. She’s now purchased even more to cloth diaper her little one once she arrives! We love this company and also really love that they offer packs/deals like this!

One of, if not the best.

We tried at least 5 different brands of diapers with our LO and Lil Helper are now the majority of our stash. The prints are super cute, but more importantly the diapers WORK! The charcoal liners are awesome (absorbent and no poop staining). On top of all this – the customer service is outstanding.

Customer service and quality is exceptional!

I ordered the trial diaper but did not start cloth diapering until my LO was 3 months old. Within a month the snap came off one of the charcoal inserts. I posted to the facebook group and they assured me it was a fluke and not a common occurrence and to email the delight team. I emailed on Sunday evening and got an email back within a few hours, on a Sunday Night! They would replace the charcoal insert no problem! So impressed with the customer service, and of course loving the quality of the diaper I purchased the starter kit! Got an extra bib in the order as a surprise! I will slowly be increasing the number of lilhelper diapers in the stash I purchased used. Easily my favorite cloth diaper so far! I can also purchase from Costco! Win win!

    so much value!

I received not just the 3 diapers with 2 inserts but an extra bamboo set of inserts and 2 cloth wipes. The extra chocolate and tea are always appreciated but this pack is a great value! Love love your company!

Snap system is quicker than pockets and super soft

I really like the snap system. It is way quicker to put things together than stuffing pockets. I also like the dry feeling of these, which seem to be particularly helpful for sleep and naps. That said, I thought I’d be able to reuse the covers more, but sometimes the fleece feels sweaty when I change her so I end up leaving that cover out to air dry for a while before I reuse it. The inside is soft and the quality of the diaper overall feels really good.

    absorbent and dependable

I love these cloth diapers! The charcoal inserts never leak for my heavy wetter which is why i purchased more of these. I also love the two layer snaps, it makes the diaper fit around my babies legs really well. I hope lilhelpers will come in velcro form soon as well.

    Wanted to love

I seriously wanted to absolutely fall in love with these diapers, especially with that adorable new space dino print, but I didn’t. We bought a few trials and a day pack before our little one arrived and I couldn’t wait to use them! We first diapered our baby in Bum Genius Littles because she was quite tiny and it was difficult to get any one size diaper to fit well. We have now been using our Lil Helpers and Bum Genius Freetime diapers for about 6 weeks.

Our Lil Helpers are adorable, absorbent, and I love company’s overall mission, but they are not my favorite diaper which surprised me. They wash well and dry FAST which is great. The customer service is definitely top notch. And when you buy Lil Helpers you get a sweet surprise as well as some humor included!

I thought I’d love the convenience of the inserts and the ability to use the same cover throughout the day, but we’re rarely given the opportunity. The PUL on these diapers doesn’t extend into the inside of the diaper which for us has caused a lot of issues with leaking and extra laundry. On one hand I love that it’s just the soft fleece against my baby’s sweet skin, but on the other her Freetimes have maybe a half inch of PUL that extends into the diaper at all edges and she doesn’t seem to mind them one bit. Because she’s small (only 15%) we have to make the diapers as small as possible which creates a bit of bunching at the front and that’s where her leaks are every time because it just wicks straight to her clothes. I’m hoping that once she’s bigger it won’t be an issue because the diaper will lie flatter, but we’ll see.

Poor fit on 1 yr old, seem cheap

I have used these diapers for about 8 months. They are the last ones I go to in my stash (and actually haven’t used them much anymore until recently). The fit is odd, my 1 year old (15th percentile weight, 50th percentile height) is using the diaper fully unsnapped to get a good fit. All of our other one size diapers of various brand are only on the middle rise setting. This diaper will not get us to potty training, I doubt it will fit in 6 months. When the 2nd insert is added the diaper is a bit more bulky, which I don’t mind, but it ends up becoming a super low rise in the front and the back, I do not use this diaper if I think baby is going to poop.

When I use this diaper I am sure to change it within 1-2 hours. I do want to like the inserts but think that the diaper cover is not well designed in terms of shape. Also, the diaper cover is lined with microfleece so if the inserts soak through then the cover gets urine on it. This means that the cover can’t be used again with a new set of inserts (unless you let it dry between changes but then it will smell).

I like the idea of the inserts but wish their was an option for all natural fibers (it seems like they are bamboo but really they are mostly microfiber). Also, the placement of the snaps on the top of the large insert means that the plastic snap touches baby if the small insert is not snapped in, its not the “male” snap but it still doesn’t seem ideal. The snaps on the insert would have been better on the bottom side of the large insert.

There are many other hybrid diapers like this one from other companies that I prefer (better fit and better absorbency). I also found the inserts to have a funny smell (none of my other diapers or inserts have this smell).

If I were to go back I would not spend my money on lil helper diapers. The customer service seems good and the website is catchy, but you can spend a bit more money to get a WAY better diaper than this one. Not worth the price (even if it is less than others).

    No more disposables at night!

We have been cloth diapering our 14 month old since he was 6 months old and tried most of the different kinds of cloth diapers out there, from hemp/cotton inserts in pocket diapers to cotton prefolds and all in ones. As he is a heavy wetter at night, we had difficulty finding a diaper that not only could last overnight but also didn’t stink of urine by morning. Because of this, we were resigned to using disposables at night. Enter the Lil Helpers charcoal inserts cloth diapers. Just as another reviewer had said, these diapers have eliminated the need to use disposables at night! The urine odour is very slight after a long night’s sleep (10 hours) and after that period of time, the frequency of diaper leaks was far less than with the disposables. These are our new night diapers and we couldn’t be happier to be doing cloth all the time now, rather than just during the day! Plus, the prints are beyond adorable! Don’t let the not so great mobile website fool you: the print are probably the most adorable out there (yes, even cuter than Applecheeks and similar competitors!). Last but not least, the customer service was fantastic. Diapers shipped the next day and, being in the GTA, they arrived the day after being shipped with a lovely handwritten thank you card by Mohammed (with diverse babies on the cover!) and little treats of tea bags and dark chocolate! I highly recommend them and will definitely be a return customer!

  • Why the starter kit?

So you can try a bunch of Lil Helper Cloth Diapers in a variety of colours and prints and fall in love with what we have to offer. Also, the package comes to you at a considerable discount.

  • So what are the health benefits….Sorry….Did you say discount?

Well yeah. The starter kit is available to you for just $82.95, which is 10% less than what you would have paid had you purchased all of these items individually. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Good then. I will just purchase 10 starter kits to make my whole stash!

No. No. We only allow each individual to purchase a maximum of three starter kits. We hope that you will try one for yourself and give the other one as a gift to a friend who is considering cloth diapers.

  • How can you stop my sister, who lives two blocks away, from ordering a starter kit?
