Remember that time that your kid removed their disposable diaper and went to town on your heirloom rug? That wasn’t a freak accident. You have a lil tree-hugger for a baby. Your baby is rebelling against the disposable. And the resistance will not stop until you switch to cloth diapers-Lil Helpers to be precise.

The Mayo Clinic says that: “diaper rash is commonly linked to continuously wet or infrequently changed diapers, diarrhea, and using plastic pants to cover diapers.”

To remedy a diaper rash, pediatricians recommend to air-out your child's bum and to keep it dry. Our charcoal fabric keeps your baby feeling complete even after a full night of use. This stay-dry ability makes Lil Helper's Charcoal Cloth Diaper ideal for use during a diaper rash and for preventing further breakouts. Most parents use it as a nap or night-time diaper.

All of these issues surrounding irritant diaper dermatitis (IDD) or diaper rash can be prevented by using our Charcoal Cloth Diaper. Here's how:

Keeps Your Baby Feeling Dry: The charcoal inserts can hold more than 180 ml of liquid and the great part is that your child still feels dry. Keeping your child’s skin dry is the best way to remedy diaper rashes-charcoal's wicking ability lets you do just that.

Lets You Air-Out Your Baby: Most pediatricians suggest that it is best to let your baby go commando or without a diaper to remedy a diaper rash. Our Charcoal Cloth diaper is the next-best-thing to this.

Eliminates the Need for Rash Creams: Rash prevention creams are supposed to create a water barrier to keep your baby’s skin dry. But before application, if your baby's skin is not thoroughly dry, you could worsen the rash by trapping moisture on your child’s bum. You do not need any rash cream while using our charcoal cloth diapers. Our materials will keep your baby dry and well ventilated without subjecting your child's delicate skin to additional chemicals.

No other diapers fit my little one as nicely as these do or keep her as dry! The amazingly cute patterns are just a very big bonus 🙂

    Best heavy wetter diaper!

This diaper is more amazing than I thought possible. My daughter is an extremely heavy wetter. We started cloth at 1.5months. Without naming brands we tried all in ones, pockets and covers. With microfiber, bamboo , hemp, prefolds fst.and even charcoal bamboo from another company. Nothing worked! She was leaking within 30 to 60 min. Myself and my breastfeeding pillow would be soaked.
Fast forward to trying these diapers and it is like night and day. I dont have leaks,I get an amazing fit and the colours are beautiful! My entire stash is now lil helper diapers. Approx 30 in total and I wouldn’t change it for the world!!
Being a canadian company and having such amazing customer service is just the icing on the cake!!!

Don’t hesitate - just fluff bum!

    First time parents here…
Before my baby girl was born, we loved the idea of cloth diapering. We watched every Lil Helper video out there to be as prepared as possible. Not gonna lie…once she was born, we took what we thought was the easy route (tired & overwhelmed) and used disposables. We couldn’t be bothered with the extra laundry. MISTAKE. 8 days into parenthood and we were faced with a very bad diaper rash…which took many visits to the doctor, 4 trial and error prescriptions and 6 weeks to fully heal aaaaand 4 days later it started coming back. We were at the end of our rope so we decided to give cloth diapering a go. Result? NO MORE DIAPER RASH – ever! Even through teething – nothing! Just a healthy, happy baby bum. The only negative thing I have to say is they are bulkier than disposables (duh?!) so dress a size up!

    Super easy!!

I HONESTLY HADN’T EVEN PLANNED ON USING CLOTH DIAPERS. I ACTUALLY DON’T EVEN KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS USED THEM BUT ONE DAY I CAME ACROSS LIL HELPERS WHILE READING UP ON BABY STUFF AND I THOUGHT WELL WHY NOT TRY THEM. I’VE MADE SEVERAL ORDERS NOW AND I HAVE 3 CHANGE PADS. THE SMALL ONE IS AWESOME FOR THE DIAPER BAG. THE DIAPERS THEMSELVES ARE SUPER EASY AND I USE THE BAMBOO FLUSHABLE LINERS AND IT MAKES IT AS EASY AS A DISPOSABLE ONLY IT IS MUCH BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT, BABIES BUM AND YOUR WALLET IN THE LONG RUN! I REALLY RECOMMEND TRYING THEM. IT MIGHT SEEM DAUNTING AT FIRST BUT GIVE THEM A TRY IT’S SUPER EASY. I GOT MY HUSBAND USING THEM NOW!

    THE BEST CLOTH DIAPER!!!

I have been cloth diapering for a few months and have tried a few different brands, but none of them have even come close to lil helper! I bought one diaper to try and I love how absorbent and easy it is to use; no difficult stuffing or struggling with the diaper! Our 17 month old can pee a lot but I haven’t had any leak problems at all!

    What I like about them
    1. Fits my newborn very comfortably. And it doesn’t look or feel bulky
    2. The charcoal inserts are very absorbent and feels dry even with a reasonable amount of pee .

    Love love love

Cloth diapering couldn’t be easier with our lil helpers. They have seen us through the last few years and I couldn’t help but get the beautiful new prints in the high rise, before our lil guy potty trained. I love the high rise!!!!
    Thank you

    Not great for us

I wanted to really like it (seems like great customer service, Canadian company, some really cute prints like space dinos) but I find the fit to be poor and absorbency mediocre. We use it fully unsnapped on our 1 year old (with both inserts). I don’t think that this diaper will make it through to potty training because of the size of the cover. We also use the outside snaps on the leg and waist. All of our other one size diapers are on the middle row of snaps with plenty of room to grow before unsnapping to the final row like we have to on the lil helper diapers. I’ve watched the videos about how to get a good fit and it just doesn’t work for us (we do not have a chunky baby).

If we were to go back we would not have purchased these diapers. When I heard that there was a newer higher rise design I thought I would purchase a couple to try (I like the idea of an all in two diaper for less laundry), but it does not seem to make a significant different on our baby (who is in the 50th percentile for height and 15th percentile for weight at age 1). In our shipment we got a couple newer diapers and 1 older model (it would have been nice for them to be all newer version).

A couple of improvements that I think would make these diapers way better would be:

Make the cover a bit bigger and/or change the location of the rise snaps (I noticed that they are different than our other diapers). This could be part of the poor fit issue.

We use both inserts together because…. 1) They aren’t absorbent enough on their own for longer than an hour and 2) I find it weird to have the snaps exposed (even if it is just the smooth female side of the snap).

If the inserts all had a pul backing then I would be more likely to be able to reuse the covers. Right now I’m finding that urine is soaking through to the cover (even though I am changing every 1-2 hours) so I have to use a new cover while the other one dries (but then it smells like urine so I don’t want to reuse it…).

If the snaps were placed on the bottom of the large insert then a single large insert could be used without the snaps being exposed (the small insert would be snapped in beneath it).

I also wish there was an option for an insert that didn’t include microfiber in the center. All cotton or all bamboo or a combo of cotton hemp would be great (maybe with a stay dry top).

There are better all in two diapers out there for a little bit more money and I find them to be worth it. Other diapers have a better fit and much better absorbency with natural fibers. The big thing for me still is the fit. I doubt little helpers will fit our baby after 18-20 months.

  • How do I wash my diapers?

    1. Make sure any solid "stuff" is already out of the diapers and liners before you throw it in the washer. 2. Pre-wash the diapers (short cycle) in warm water using the recommended brand and amount of detergent. Check here. 3. Heavy Duty (longest cycle) warm/cold wash with proper detergent amount. For those who prefer a more visual explanation, check out our video or snazzy infographic. *When it comes to detergent, we realize not one size fits all. You may need/want something other than Tide due to allergies/sensitivities or other personal reasons, but we want to make sure that whatever you choose to use is cloth diaper safe. We use Fluff Love University's resources as they have compiled their vast knowledge of cloth diaper laundry in one place. They have a great detergent index which shows what IS and IS NOT cloth safe. Happy laundering!

  • How do I dry my diapers?

Short Answer: Line or hang dry the diaper shells and covers when possible, because we love the environment and do want to pay extra electricity bills. Longer Answer: As ecophiles, we would recommend that you line or hang dry our cloth diapers after each wash. But we have families and tight schedules and amazing dryers, too. So if you put our liners in the dryer use the tumble dry setting with medium heat. We recommend that our diapers covers or diaper shells not be put in the dryer, if possible. This is to ensure that the PUL (Polyurethane Laminate) lining which is heat bonded on the inside of the outer layer of our shell (read it again if not clear) is not eroded. The PUL is what makes our diapers waterproof and the less heat it is exposed to the longer it will stay bonded to the fabric. If you absolutely have to put the diaper shells or diaper covers in the dryer do so at a low to medium heat. If you are drying the diapers shells and liners together, remove the diaper shells from the dryer after 10-20 minutes. From our experience, the diaper shells dry out far more quickly as compared to the liners.

  • How Do I Wash my Diapers if I have hard water?

We figure the first question most of you will have is: Do I have hard water? There are a few ways to test this. This video is my personal favourite.

So what is the solutions?  It’s an easy peasy.. Add BORAX or CALGON to your wash.

    1. Once you know your water hardness value take a look at this chart to see what amount of softener is recommended based on your water.
    2. In most cases they will recommend about ½ cup of softener added to the pre and main washes.
    3. Additionally, some powdered detergents have water softeners that help give a better clean in hard water. If your detergent isn’t proving strong enough, upgrading detergents will also help immensely.
    4. ‍ If you have hard water, NEVER EVER do an extra rise! Essentially, you’re adding back all those mineral deposits you just cleared out with your new or increased detergent and water softeners. For detailed information about hard water, cloth diapers, and you, we suggest you head over to Fluff Love University.

"We used disposable diapers for a couple weeks while our new born grew into an appropriate size to use the Lil Helpers. Now that we've switched over to the cloth diapers with charcoal inserts, it's been great just how comfortable these fit to our son. You have to adjust the snaps to find the right fit, but that makes the diaper so flexible. The diaper looks a little big on an 8 lb baby, but they're doing the job, and we've cut back our waste so much, we're looking forward to saving a ton of money by reusing these diapers as well. Definitely recommend."

"I was skeptical about the whole cloth diaper idea to begin with. But Lil Helper cloth diapers has made things very easy! At first we had a couple of leaks, but with the leak app we were able to solve the problem and have been using cloth diapers without leaks for since our little guy was 2 weeks old! Very impressed! :) "

"I was first disappointed as I thought I was buying a bamboo diaper... that it wasn’t. Not Lil Helpers fault I should have read more carefully but I wish that had a bamboo lining option. The package arrived quickly, the print is beautiful and the handwritten card was a nice surprise. My son is a heavy nighttime wetter and I hoped this would be the solution, unfortunately he still woke up soaking wet all out the back of the diaper. This shows how good the leg elastics and the front buttons work but it just didn’t complete the job. I’m sure it will be a good daytime diaper tho! "

"Absolutely love these diapers! Super absorbant, good quality, very easy to use and to clean. Even more perfect in combinaison with the stay dry liners. I love how easily we can just change the inserts and reuse the shell when it is not dirty. A must-buy! I'm planning to order more inserts and liners, will eventually try the swim diapers too! Absolutely love this company and all the effort they put into each of all their products! "

".I am so in love with these diapers. They literally are so comfortable feeling and they perfectly fit on the our baby. A lot of cloth diapers don’t fit her little legs appropriately or they leave leakage; these diapers left no leakage and they lasted all night. That made one happy mama because I did not have to get up in the middle of the night and change her. I love the prints and the colors."
